The practices of meditation are
unparalleled they truly are, the last couple weeks at work have been probably
the hardest that I have experienced in my life thus far. My work environment
can be very stressful and can really affect a person if they are not adhering
to stress relievers correctly. By truly trying to end each of my days with some
type of exercise whether it be meditation, channeling my chi (I believe a form
of meditation), yoga, or myofasical release, I am better prepared to take on
stress in not only my environment but others also.
This saying reminded me of star trek as funny as that
sounds, when they say to “boldly go where no man has gone before” it takes a
person to experience something first and learn from it before he or she can
teach it. Its like our professional jobs, if we stop and go to a completely
different field to which we have no experience dealing with, there is no way we
can successfully train someone without knowing what to do first. As a health
and wellness professional, we have to make sure that we are practicing what we
preach, meaning we better believe in it and use it in our lives to expect it to
work in a clients life. I absolutely feel that as a professional to not only
further myself or ourselves we must continually practice/challenge our health
psychologically, physically, and spiritually in order to maintain a positive
progressive state for our clients as they progress through the stages of
integral health as well. Its like working out, your never going to get stronger
if you always lift the same weight, you have to get heavier in order to get
stronger, same goes for the mind. I can implement spiritual growth by taking 10
minutes each night by repeating to myself about how grateful I am for the life
I have and my family and friends that stand by me. I believe I implement
psychological growth every time I get out of bed at 630-7 a.m. to go to the gym
after 5 hours of sleep, to lift weights when all I want to do is stay in that
nice comfy bed and sleep some more. This video really helps me drive myself
psychologically with not only the gym, but also life in general. http://youtu.be/egBF1w-sHR4
