Hi Professor and class,
For the Unit 8 blog we were asked to choose which 2 practices we liked most, well I chose; Visualization, and Meditation. I think these two practices are my strongest out of all of them, I first learned how to visualize years ago, while watching the movie "The Secret". Visualization is such a strong practice, the key is really believing what you are seeing in your mind, and feeling the effects it has on you. I Visualize a lot throughout my day, when I am at the gym I really enjoy envisioning me performing the upcoming exercise, I make sure I feel it in the body part that I am Exercising. By incorporating visualization in your everyday life you look at the positives much, much, more. I currently started learning how to meditate last year when I started taking Hapkido, a form of martial art. Stress is a huge deal when considering a persons health, it effects their eating, and there mind to say just a few. Meditation helps clear the mind of unwanted debris, a clear mind is capable of so much more and can literally keep diseases at bay, no matter what. I use this practice as often as I can, when I get home from work now the first thing I do is I meditate to get rid of whatever negativity may still be floating around me, so that I can go to bed with a clear mind. I do the same when I wake up, this especially important to me because it really is the deciding factor to how I am able to start my day.
